True Wealth Means Getting Your Financial House in Order… It Means Getting UGLE’s Tied Up

By Ron Nakamoto

Many of you have seen or experienced the Napkin Presentation.  If you haven’t, here’s a video of Lee Brower presenting it to a group last year.

After going through this experience, many people come up to us and ask, “What’s next?  What do I do now?”

Almost invariably, we’ve found that the quickest and easiest way to make progress is to begin addressing your UGLE’s (pronounced “ugly’s”).  This acronym stands for Urgent Glaring Loose Ends.  Most of the items on our UGLE’s checklist are financial matters like updating wills and trusts, reviewing adequacy of life insurance, making sure that business documents are consistent with personal planning documents, etc.

We’ve discovered that most people who get their financial house in order have at least a temporarily restored sense of balance and confidence that allows them to then focus on core, experience, and contribution asset optimization.

What about you?  What are your UGLE’s?
