Small Steps and Enjoying the Journey

Lee Brower tells a story about goals and his relationship with Coach John Wooden, the Hall of Fame basketball coach, in this video http://youtu.be/dSpwWtbdCMM.


The article below describes research that indicates that focusing too intently on the goal and not enjoying the short term experiences leads to reduced motivation and poorer results.  Thus, combining Lee Brower’s concept of the smallest step with the research suggesting “enjoy the journey” would seem to provide a 1-2 approach to achievement.
