Shifting Thinking About Philanthropy

This outstanding TED Talk explores the reasons why focusing on minimizing expenses instead of expanding fundraising has stifled problem solving and innovation in the non-profit world.  The question that I have after viewing the video is whether energy should go into fixing the system or whether it would be easier and faster to refocus for-profit ventures on philanthropic projects.  In other words, would it be easier and faster to shift the thinking of bureaucrats or businessmen?
