This is primarily a political essay on what's wrong with the Republican Party. However, embedded in the discussion is a superficial mention of the solution to a better society, empowering families. The author seems to be advocating a return traditional nuclear families – which in and of itself mirrors that part of the new reality that many politicians don't seem to grasp; that is, the world has changed and nuclear families are no longer the dominant family structure in America. Yet families in whatever modern forms they now take, do in my opinion still hold the key to a better society. It's the relationships between caring, responsible adults and their children that we must build upon. An enduring positive family culture is what gives our children and future generations the best opportunity to prosper.
